Can You Travel To Bermuda?

All UK travellers need to apply for a Bermuda COVID-19 Travel Authorisation 1 to 3 days before departure. Submission of a Travel Authorisation application within 24 hours of your travel date will not be approved.

The Travel Authorisation application requires an upload of a negative pre-arrival test result.

Applications are vetted between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily. Emergency Travel Authorisations may be issued on the day of travel by the COVID-19 Helpline on +1(441)444-2498. If your Travel Authorisation is not approved before your flight, you cannot travel to Bermuda.

All travellers must take a COVID-19 test, upon arrival and tests administered on Day 4, Day 8 and Day 14 at convenient testing centres across the island.

Vaccinated travellers with a valid negative pre-arrival test face fewer restrictions. For vaccinated travellers see the relevant FAQ.

The following applies to non-vaccinated travellers:

  • Travellers must quarantine at a designated quarantine Hotel at their own expense for 14 days. Travellers may apply for an exemption to isolate at home for 14 days
  • All visitors must have a negative pre-arrival PCR Covid-19 test taken 4 days before arrival in Bermuda
  • Upon arrival, you must show a copy of your Travel Authorisation and present a copy of the pre-departure PCR COVID-19 negative test result to health officers on request
  • All travellers will undergo PCR COVID-19 testing at the Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport
  • Travellers are required to wear a Traveller Wristband for the first 14 days, which will be distributed during testing upon arrival. Travellers who do not wish to wear the wristband will be required to quarantine at their accommodation for 14 days
  • After negative day 4 test results are received, the traveller’s movement is no longer restricted, and the traveller is permitted to move throughout the island in accordance with any regulations in place by the Government of Bermuda at the time of visit.

All visitors are strongly encouraged to download the WeHealth Bermuda app.

Local Measures
Restrictions that are currently in place include:

  • a maximum of 50 people for large gatherings
  • masks are not required except in certain crowded and high risk setting or venues

For further information on restrictions, you should consult the Bermuda Government website. You can find a full list of Bermuda’s coronavirus regulations on the Bermuda Government website.

Travelling To Bermuda FAQs

Advice and answers from the Corona Test Centre Team

What do the three colours of the UK’s ‘Traffic Light System’ for travel mean?

  • Red: You must pay for a 10-day stay in a managed quarantine hotel, as well as taking a pre-departure test (a Fit to Fly test) and two PCR tests upon return to the UK (Day 2 & Day 8).
  • Amber: You will need to quarantine for 10 days, as well as taking a pre-departure test (a Fit to Fly test), and two PCR tests on return to the UK (Day 2 & Day 8). When you return to the UK,  you can take a test on Day 5 (Test to Release) to leave quarantine early.
  • Green: You will not need to quarantine on return, but you must take a pre-departure test (a Fit to Fly test), and a PCR test on return to the UK on Day 2.

How will the government decide which countries go on the green, amber or red lists?

Countries are assigned to the three lists, based on a range of Covid-19 health metrics, which include figures on population vaccination, infection rates and prevalence of variants. The different traffic light colours indicate the risk in each destination and the associated tests and quarantine periods required. Lists are reassessed every three weeks, to account for changes in each country’s COVID-19 situation.

Will I need a PCR Fit to Fly Certificate to travel to

Bermuda

?

The PCR test is the gold standard for testing coronavirus and so is recommended for travel to all countries. For Bermuda, only PCR Fit to Fly Certificates are accepted.

Will I need an Antigen Fit to Fly Certificate to travel to

Bermuda

?

The PCR test is the gold standard for testing coronavirus and so is recommended for travel to all countries. For Bermuda, only PCR Fit to Fly Certificates are accepted. You will not be able to use an Antigen Fit to Fly Certificate to enter Bermuda but you will be able to use one to return to the UK.

Will I need a Day 2 test or Day 2 and 8 when I return to the UK?

Bermuda is currently on the green list, this means that you will need a Day 2 PCR test. You will need to buy this before you travel to the UK and use the reference code on your passenger location form. You do not need to quarantine on arrival unless you test positive. Please note that the travel restrictions are subject to change at very short notice.

I’m vaccinated, what tests do I need?

Bermuda is currently on the green list, this means that you will need a Day 2 PCR test, even though you are double vaccinated. You will need to buy this before you travel to the UK and use the reference code on your passenger location form. You do not need to quarantine on arrival unless you test positive. Please note that the travel restrictions are subject to change at very short notice.

Can I enter

Bermuda

with a double vaccination certificate?

Bermuda does not accept vaccination as an entry requirement and so you will need to provide a PCR Fit to Fly Certificate

What happens if I have visited another country before flying back to the UK from

Bermuda

?

The government advice for passengers travelling from Bermuda is that if you have visited another country in the 10 days before you arrive in the UK that is a higher risk than Bermuda, you must follow the travel guidance for the highest risk country you visited.

What else will I need to return to the UK?

For all countries, including Bermuda, you will need to take an Antigen Fit to Fly test before departing for the UK. This can be bought at Corona Test Centre’s to take with you on your travels.
